- [Instructor] In this chapter, we'll spend some time refreshing some of the basic concepts of Substance Designer and its tools, so everyone starts at the same level as we move into the techniques we'll explore later on. If you feel you've got a good grasp of the UI, what are nodes and graphs, and how to work with multiple graphs and materials, then feel free to skip this chapter. So let's get started with an overview of the UI. So let's go and grab Substance Designer. And the first time you open Substance Designer, it should look something like this. This is not my view when I work with Substance Designer, so I'm going to show you how I set it up, and feel free to change it to whatever you'd like. So I typically put the explorer on the right with the parameters, like so. And then I close the library because most of what you can see here, you can obtain when you have a graph, with the space bar. So I'm going to close this and have my graph in the full view, and then my 3D view's here…
