(bright holiday music) - It's December here at The Practicing Photographer. You can tell because it's so wintry. I've often spoken here about the importance of photo projects as a way of improving your photographic skill. A project does a lot for you. It gives you focus, it gives you a theme to work on, both in terms of content and in terms of understanding the role of narrative from one image to another. A project is just a really great way to up your skill. Very often, the problem with a photo project is thinking of one. I bring this up now because the holiday season is actually possibly a great potential mine of photo projects, and I want you to think about that as whatever holiday you do or do not celebrate is approaching.
