Powering up your camera

- To state the obvious, your camera needs power in order to run and there are adapters that you can use to plug the camera into a wall or you might be able to run off the USB battery pack, but most of the time, you're going to rely upon your cameras rechargeable battery. And it's a good idea to make sure that that battery is fully charged before you use the camera for the first time. Now, it is possible to do this while the camera is plugged into a USB port or a wall adapter and charging through the camera body, but that's not a very effective way to charge the camera because it means that you can't use the camera while you want to charge. So instead, I recommend that you get a dedicated external charger. For example, like this one here. You'll notice that it has a simple meter here, so we can see the status of the charge and as the camera battery gets more and more charged, it will progress. It's pretty simple. The…
