Scaling objects
- [Instructor] Sometimes you create every object in your artwork at perfect size, but for all the other times you're going to need to scale things up or down. Let's see how to do that and what options you have while scaling in Inkscape. The simplest way to resize an object is to select it with the selector tool, and drag a handle. If you pause, you can look at the status bar at the bottom of the window to see the scaling percentage. And notice when you drag like this, it's easy for the shape of the object to get distorted. I'll undo. And this time I'll press and hold the Control key as I drag. And that way the object is constrained to keep its original ratio of width to height. If you always want to resize objects proportionally, you can click the little lock icon in the tool controls bar right here.
