Selecting input devices

- [Instructor] Many folks find it's a lot easier to create artwork with a pen tablet than it is with a mouse or a track pad, but before you can use your tablet or other input devices with Inkscape, you have to enable them, and we'll see how to do that in this movie. Currently, I have a Wacom tablet attached to my computer and I'd like to use it here in Inkscape. After you attach your tablet to your computer and install any related software, you need to make sure that Inkscape will recognize the tablet, and there are two places to check for that. First is in Preferences, and I'll go to Input/Output, Input Devices, and make sure this setting, Use pressure-sensitive tablet, is turned on. Note that you have to restart Inkscape to enable this if it was turned off, and you also need to go to the Input Devices dialog, which you can open from the Edit menu here or the Inkscape menu on the Mac.
