Shooting panoramas

- Similar to a smartphone, your mirrorless camera may have a built-in panoramic mode that's designed to allow you to shoot in-camera panoramas. It'll take several photos and then stitch them together to make a very wide screen image. Now, I don't mean to speak against your shooting philosophy but I don't find that this gives very good results. It tends to be a JPEG image and it's very difficult to manipulate. It's much better to capture the image and then adjust it later. There are so many tools on the market for stitching together panoramics. Photoshop, Lightroom, Capture One, ON1, others. It makes it really easy to put these together. So what I like to do is shoot the images first and stich 'em later. Now, this is pretty simple. What you're going to want to do is put the camera onto a tripod. Now, I've put the camera into portrait orientation mode. This is ideal. You may not be able to do this unless you…
