Shooting in scene modes

- If you'd like to strike the balance between shooting in an automatic mode and having a bit more control over your camera, well, it's likely that your camera offers scene modes. The exact number of modes available will vary by camera manufacturer and model but the modes are designed to simplify the decision-making process. It really allows you to choose from a menu based upon the style of shooting you want and then the camera will adjust several settings. To engage this, you need to turn the command dial to make sure that it says Scene. It's typically going to be located right next to the Auto, so a simple little turn will typically change you from Auto to Scene mode. Now what happens is you'll see an icon indicating the mode. In this case, the flower icon on this Sony camera indicates that I'm in a Macro mode but if we change these modes, you'll see different choices. As I turn the command dial here, you notice that…
