Silent shooting

- If you capture things like weddings and events, or perhaps you're photographing plays or performances, having a loud camera can be really distracting. Many cameras actually offer a silent shooting mode. Now this isn't available in every camera, but if it is, it's a great tool, because what it does is it eliminates the sound of the mechanical shutter. You notice we have a pretty loud click, that's the physical shutter opening and closing, sounds a bit like a typewriter going. Well, that's fine, and it works well, but you don't have to use it. With a mirrorless camera, we can actually rely upon an electronic shutter, which is just going to open and close the shutter by an electrical pulse, turning the sensor on and off. Now it's important if you're going to use this feature, be ethical. Don't try to sneak photographs without people knowing that you're taking their picture.
