- See if this sounds familiar. You've got an afternoon available, so you've decided go walk around and take some pictures. So you pack full of gear. You get yourself ready to go. And then you've got to figure out where. Now I live in San Francisco so I've got a number of different options. I could go out to the beach. I could go to North Beach, which is the Italian neighborhood. I could go to Chinatown. I could go out to the piers, which is a real industrial area where there's a recovered wetland and some warehouses and things like that. I could go on and on. Instead of making a decision, I'll stand here and pace in a circle and try to figure out where I should go by imagining what photos I'm going to take there. Now you might think, "Oh, you live in San Francisco, "there's all these different places." Nah, you can do this if you live anywhere.
