Understanding focus points and autofocus

- When you look at on a scene, your eyes need to focus. Now typically, you're going to choose a place and automatically focus. And your camera really works the same way. The auto focus mechanism, that camera, can really only focus on one particular point in time. Particularly, a distance. As it adjusts to focus for objects at that distance, objects that are closer or further away may not be in focus. Now your brain and eyes really do the same thing, but as I turn and look at different areas, my brain is much quicker at adjusting. The camera itself is a bit slower because it's a more mechanical process and can't instantly snap into place. Now your camera uses focus points and it's also possible for you to set where the camera chooses to focus. Right now, for example, I'm focused on this bread in the foreground. But if I move that focus point to a different area, such as the bottle of olive oil here, you see it adjust. And…
