- [Instructor] Let's start our look at Inkscape's filter features by using the controls in the Filter Editor dialogue to make a drop shadow from scratch. In the exercise file for this movie we have one complex object that shows Japan's main islands and we're going to build a drop shadow effect under this with filters. Now there is a specific menu command in the Filters menu for creating drop shadows. And you can find that under Shadows and Glows right here. But we're going to skip it for now and build ours from scratch just to see how filters work. So let's choose Filters, Filter editor. And when you first opened this dialogue a lot of the elements might be unreadable. So go ahead and open up the dialogue and move things around so you can see it on your screen. Then click the new button to create a new filter. It's called filter zero by default. So let's give it a more descriptive name by clicking on it and I'll call this…
