Using the XML Editor

- [Instructor] The underlying technology of Inkscape is SVG, or a Scalable Vector Graphics. SVG is a way of describing graphics with XML code, so it's not surprising that Inkscape includes an XML Editor, where you can view and edit the underlying code that creates your artwork. To open the XML Editor, choose Edit, XML Editor, or use the keyboard shortcut shift + control + x. The XML Editor will show you the code for absolutely everything in your document. Everything's going to be represented here and everything is editable, so if you like working with code, this is an incredibly powerful tool. Now, to understand what's going on in the dialog, I have a very simple document open here with just one object, just this rounded rectangle with a fill and a stroke.
