- [Instructor] From time to time, you might want to hide part of an object in your artwork. For example, you might want to show just the subject of a photo and hide the background. Or maybe you want to show some part of your artwork inside the shape of another element. When you want to do these things, you can use Inkscape's clip and mask features. Here in my document, I have a couple of embedded JPEG images and I'd like to change their appearance a bit. For the image of the car, I want to try some different looks other than just a rectangular frame. So for example if I want to put the car in an oval frame, I can draw an ellipse shape with the ellipse tool. And I'll just click and drag right over the car. I'll press the space bar to switch to the selector tool and then drag over both the photo and the ellipse to select them both. And then I'll choose object, clip, set. And now I can see the car image only through the…
