- [Instructor] At times you might struggle to accurately draw or position objects just by eyeballing it. When that's the case, Inkscape's guides features can help. Let's see how they work. The simplest way to create a guide is to drag from the ruler. If the ruler isn't showing, press Ctrl + R or Cmd + R on the Mac, and then drag from the horizontal ruler to create a horizontal guide, or the vertical ruler to create a vertical guide. You can rotate a guide by moving your cursor over it so it appears highlighted, and then holding shift and dragging on the guide. Notice that every guide also has an origin point. This you can drag to make the guide snap to a particular spot, but you don't have to click right on the anchor in order to drag a guide to make it snap. Wherever you click the guide becomes the origin once you start to drag. And you can see that snapping behavior. You can access guide options by double-clicking…
