- [Instructor] Now let's take a look at RSMeans square foot estimator. If you're not already, open the tab, three over, that says Square Foot Estimator. Using this tool you can create a budget estimate for a project with user selected parameters for the building type of construction, its usage, its general size, where it's being built, and how it's being built. Part of the square foot estimate tool also allows users to utilize predictive cost data. Meaning prices for labor and material that RSMeans has determined will be the most likely cost based on the prospective time and period of construction. Let's go through and set some parameters for the square foot estimator and create a budget estimate. First of all, you notice that you can select a building image. You can upload one if you want.
