Using surfaces to build solid models

- [Instructor] In this example, we're going to be using a surface to create a solid. Now, if you remember from the extrude tool, we have the option of extruding up to a surface or offset from a surface, so that's exactly what we're going to do here. So, the first thing I want to do is create a rectangle or a sketch on this plane number 2. Click on that one, start a sketch, and let's go ahead and create a rectangle. I'm going to go ahead and use this corner rectangle tool, and make sure something is directly below that surface. If it's sticking out past the surface, it won't work. It has to be completely underneath this surface for it to work. Okay, now exit out of that sketch. And now what we're going to do is we're going to take this square, this rectangle, and we're going to extrude it up to that surface.
