- I've seen photographers of all skill levels struggle to pre-visualize what things are really going to look like when they press the shutter button. That's because with traditional cameras there's a big difference between what you see in the viewfinder and what's actually seen by the camera's sensor or recorded to the memory card. With mirrorless cameras most of the features are actually visible before you take the picture. This means it could be a lot easier to really judge what the shot is going to look like, options like depth of field and exactly what's in focus. It does make it easier to get feedback from the camera and as we start to use other settings for things like color, exposure, or tone, almost all of those options are visible before you take the shot.
