What is Program Auto mode?

- The program auto mode of your camera, automatically adjust shutter speed and aperture based on a built-in program. Now, that may sound a lot like auto, but you actually have a little bit more control. This is often a useful mode if you want to shoot snapshots, or if you're dealing with tough lighting situations and you like the camera to choose some or most of the settings for you. Now, when shooting in program auto mode, the camera will determine both the shutter speed and the aperture. However, you are free to choose the auto-focus, white balance, ISO, and file format. So it's a bit different than shooting in the truly automatic mode. You'll see, for example, that the camera is in truly automatic mode here.
