Why group critiques are good for you

- Long-time viewers of The Practicing Photographer will know that in addition to practicing, one of the most important things I can think of to help improve your photography skills is to engage in group critiques. Now, that very word, critique, terrifies some people, and so, this week on The Practicing Photographer I want to go over four simple reasons why group critiques will make you a better photographer. My hope here is that this is going to encourage you to go out and find a place where you can engage in this kind of activity. At the end of the discussion I'll talk a little bit about how you find a place to get a group critique. Number one, and this is something I've talked about a lot here at The Practicing Photographer and in some of my other courses, group critiques give you a vocabulary for assessing and discussing an image.
