Working with linear gradients

- [Instructor] You can apply smooth blends of color to the strokes and fills of your artwork with Inkscape's Gradient tool and the Fill and Stroke dialog. So, let's take a look at how to do that with linear gradients. Here I have a nice little forest of trees and I want to create the effect of a sunrise or sunset in the sky. This is a perfect use for a gradient. Since I want all the trees to appear in front of the sky, I put them on their own layer, which I can see in the Layers dialog, called Forest and we're going to work on the Sky layer. So I'll select the rectangle that's filled with the blue color for the sky and to change this to a gradient, I'll switch to the Gradient tool either by clicking on it or pressing the letter G. Notice the tool controls for the Gradient tool. For a new gradient, I can make a linear or a radio gradient. I'm going to stick with linear here and I'll apply a linear gradient to the fill…
