- [Instructor] Inkscape comes with a set of pre-made patterns that you can use in your artwork and even better, you can use any of your own graphics to make patterns as well. So let's see how it's done. I'll start by selecting this first circle and in the fill-in stroke dialogue, I'll choose pattern. And there are several stripe patterns to choose from with black stripes and transparent gaps. The numbers and the names of the patterns show the ratio of the thickness of the stripe to the gaps between the stripes. So one-to-one is equal with stripes and gaps. Two to one is stripes twice as thick as the gaps and so on. There are also checkerboard patterns, polka dots in a variety of sizes. We have wavy patterns and bitmap patterns, like sand, cloth and even old paint. Okay, now let's see how to make your own pattern.
