- [Instructor] When you need to create truly precise artwork a steady hand and a sharp eye will help you, but they usually won't give you perfect results. That's why Inkscape offers many options for snapping objects to other objects, including guides and grids. And that's what we'll look at in this movie. The first thing we need to do is set up our desired snapping behavior. For that, let's go to Document Properties, and click on the Snap tab. We can force objects to always snap or only when they're within a certain distance in screen pixels that I can define by dragging a slider. By default, objects closer than 20 pixels will snap. And I can also include clipping paths and mask paths. And I have similar options for snapping to grids and to guides. I'll just make sure that snap to grids is set to always snap and close the dialogue. The other main thing you need to do to set up snapping is to choose your options in the snap…
