A guided tour: Common buttons and controls
- Let's start by taking a quick look at some of the essential buttons and controls on your camera. Now don't worry if you hear me use a term that you're not familiar with. We'll explore most of these controls later on in much greater detail throughout the course. But let's start with the front of the camera. Now somewhere near the front or on top is the power switch and this'll be used every time you want to turn the camera on. Usually it just rocks back and forth but it might be a switch that goes side to side. This'll vary from camera to camera but you'll want to be familiar with it because if you don't turn the camera on it can't work. Now in this camera located inside the center here is the shutter button. You'll probably guess that this is what you have to press to actually take a photo. So when you press the shutter it will open up the camera shutter and trigger a photo. On the front of the camera here we have…
