An overview of using LUTs for photography software

- One of the nicest things about LUTs is that they're not just for video tools. You can use LUTs to transfer information over to photography as well. And this means that if you're working on a cross media project, color grades that you do in a video tool can be moved into the photography environment for print or web. Let me show you a quick option here. In this case, I've already got some LUTs generated that are for landscapes. And I have some files here. Let's open these up. Most photo editing tools support LUTs. And in this case, I opened up a RAW file. In Photoshop I'll quickly adjust the settings, and get a good overall RAW file. There we go. Using the graduated filter here, I'll drag from top to bottom. And just dip the exposure a little bit in the sky as well with some highlight recovery. All right. I can now open that up. In Photoshop I can apply the LUT two ways. If I just want to apply it quickly…
