No risk, no reward

- [Jim] Do we take risks in construction? Eh, you bet we do. Is that okay? Sure it is. If there were no risk, there would be no reward. If construction management was easy and risk free, no one would pay us for doing it. Risk is not inherently bad, it just has to be managed. As a construction manager, a huge part of your job is managing the risk that we take on every day in this industry, and we do face all kinds of risk. Keeping the job site safe to work on, keeping the public safe as we work around them, cost and schedule overruns, construction defects, scope creep, contract disputes, the list goes on. If you want to be successful as a construction manager, you need to understand the risks that you and your organization are taking on every day, and you need to understand the role that you play in managing that risk. So join me, Jim Rogers, in my LinkedIn Learning Course, Construction Management: Managing Risk, as I introduce you to risk management in construction, and teach you how to begin to identify and assess risk, and then introduce you to different ways that risk can be properly managed.
