The role of corrective LUTs

- Once you've tweaked a shot and have built in a basic color correction, you might want to store a LUT that can be used for corrective purposes. This can really come in handy. In this case, I've gone to the next shot here and you'll notice that we've applied both the input LUT here for the basic correction and I've done some custom white balance and other adjustments here using the Basic tab. Now what I can do is export that as a cube file. And I'm going to rename this Shop Interior and store it in the same folder. Now, the next time I need to use this it's super simple. Instead of applying as an input LUT though, I'd suggest you take advantage of it as a creative LUT. What's nice about this is you can navigate back to your folder and apply that look. And with a single slider you can make it a little bit more or a little bit less to dial it in for taste. But this way, if you collect several shots in the same location,…
