Adding an intro movie
- [Instructor] Let's add an introduction movie to play the first time a reader opens our book. Click on the Intro Movie link in the left hand side bar, and then you can drag a video directly into this location. But before we add a movie, let's talk a little bit about how to prepare a movie for inclusion into an iBook. Movies must be playable in your computer's QuickTime player. It's best to use a movie that's in either the .m4v or .mov file format, and has a resolution of at least 720p, which tends to look great. iBooks Author will automatically optimize movies for you. However, it's a good idea to pre-compress your movies using QuickTime Player to keep the file size of your final book as small as possible. If you open a movie with QuickTime, go up to the File menu, and select Export, and then choose iPad, iPhone, iPod touch, & Apple TV. When the sheet pulls down, look for the option, that when you select it at the bottom is gonna say, Up to 720p. This is going to compress your movie…
