Importing and organizing text
- Once you have your document template set up, it's a good idea to import the text. I like to start here, because it provides a basic structure. You'll find in the exercise files that I've put together a simple outline that you're free to use. In this case, I used the ePub template available from Apple Pages. And you can see that it has the title page, a table of contents, an introduction, and four sections of the book that will get populated with images. There's not a lot of text for this photo book, but there is a little bit about each area of the country, or about the types of pictures that I'm showing. You'll also find a copyright statement. I'll leave that open for now, but minimize it and switch back to iBooks Author. In this case, the template had a few sample pages applied. I'm going to select those pages and press Delete since I don't need them. Now, I'll choose Insert, Insert Chapters From, and I'll specify a Pages or Word document.
