- Hi, I'm Garrick Chow, and welcome to Monday Productivity Pointers. Today I'd like to show you how to create a dynamic drop-down list in Excel. This can be useful when the contents of one menu depend on what's been selected in another menu. For example, here I have a row where the user will select the type of Mac computer they use, either a desktop or laptop. And in the second row, I want them to be able to select their model type. But the models are going to vary depending on whether they select desktop or laptop in the first menu. Now, in the second sheet of this notebook, I already have columns with the different model types. Now, these could all be typed up on the first sheet but I like using a second sheet to keep them hidden from view. So, first we need to create the regular drop-down list here so they can select desktop or laptop. So, with cell B1 selected here, I'm going to come up to the data tab. And allocate…
