- [Garrick] Hi, I'm Garrick Chow, and welcome to "Monday Productivity Pointers." A really useful but often overlooked feature of iOS is the ability for your iPhone or iPad to read selected text to you. This can come in handy when you need to read a document or an article, but can't keep your eyes on your phone. For example, maybe you're driving your car, or mowing your lawn, or you're out for a walk, but you need to check out a document someone sent you. In those cases, you can set up your phone to read the text to you. To enable this feature, go into Settings, to Accessibility, and here under the Vision category, select Spoken Content. And then here at the top, you can enable Speak Selection. This will make a speak button appear when you select text in most apps. So for example, I'll switch over to Safari, and here I've loaded the text from "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" at Project Gutenberg dot org. I'll select…
