- [Instructor] If you use the Microsoft Excel mobile app for iPhone or Android, you can now import data into an Excel spreadsheet just by taking a picture of a spreadsheet on paper. And that's what I want to look at in this week's Monday Productivity Pointers. I'm using an Android phone, but it works the same on an iPhone. I'm going to open up the Excel app. You can do this in a new, blank document or an existing document. I'll create a new document just by tapping the new document button in the top right corner. And I'll just use the template for a blank workbook. Now, I need to switch to the edit mode, so using the tool bar up at the top, I'll tap on the button that looks like the letter A with a pencil on it. Now I'm in the edit mode and I have my vertical ribbon down at the bottom. I'll tap where it says home to open this menu, then I can switch to the insert ribbon.
