- Let's start talking about iPhone exposure and actually focus, 'cause they're combined. And one thing that you wanna do when you start recording video is make sure that your shot is well exposed, not over exposed or under exposed, as well as make sure your subject matter is in focus. The biggest concern when comes to exposure happens to be when you're in a situation with a lot of dynamic range that means a lot of differentiation between a dark point and the brightest point in your shot. This is really typical when you have extreme dark areas or shadows, mixed with a really bright, sunny day. Now wherever you tap on the screen of your phone is where you set your exposure. So in a situation where you have a mixed lighting environment, if I click on the light, it's going to expose for the light and you might not be able to see the subject matter in your environment where it's dark.
