Swap cell content in Excel
- [Garrick Chow] Hi, I'm Garrick Chow, and welcome to Monday Productivity Pointers. I have a quick but really useful tip today for anyone who spends a lot of time in Excel. There have probably been several times when you've needed to swap the content of two cells in an Excel spreadsheet. I've often seen people accomplish this by first selecting one cell, cutting it with Command or Control + X, and then pasting it elsewhere on the sheet, then cutting the cell they want to swap it with, pasting that into the previous place, and then finally selecting the original cell, cutting that, and pasting that into the second cell's place. Now, that's a lot of steps, and unfortunately that's pretty much what you have to do if the cells aren't adjacent to each other. But if the cells are adjacent, either next to each other in the same row or above and below each other in the same column, there's a much faster way to swap them. Start…
