- [Instructor] In this movie, we're going to go over some tips for shooting both square and vertical video content. In starting off with vertical, it's best to shoot vertical if you know you're going to distribute vertical. When capturing the 16 by nine frame, it is very different than nine by 16 and hard for you to gain a perspective for how your image is going to frame up in that nine by 16 aspect ratio. Now, vertical video allows for several advantages. One is its length. Also the parallels that we draw from a very close-up perspective when we're watching content on our phone. Using this to our advantage by filming either subjects close up or objects can highly immerse our viewer. Vertical video also allows us to frame an entire subject from top to bottom a lot easier from a closer vantage point.
