- [Instructor] So two of my favorite apps on the iPhone for film production actually happen to be Sun Seeker and GoldenHour. Here's why. I'm gonna, first of all, go to GoldenHour. What's amazing about GoldenHour is it tells me the predictability of there being an amazing sunset or sunrise. It bases this on two different principles. One is a sky index and the other is a light index. You can see here that while looking at this application, first of all, I can see that my golden hour tonight, on July 6th, is gonna be from 8:15 p.m. to 9:23. And that my blue hour will be from 9:23 to 9:37. With that it's predicting with the sky and the light and the amount of clouds that are gonna be in the atmosphere at that time, for the golden hour to be about a six. With these two numbers, both the sky and the light, I would take it with a grain a salt because the weather is always changing.
