Aperture and depth of field

- Earlier, you saw that shutter speed impacts the brightness of your image and your ability to freeze or blur motion. In the last movie, you saw that the aperture in your camera also impacts the brightness of your image. However, as with shutter speed, aperture also impacts a second aspect of your image. When you change aperture, you also change the depth of field in your image. Depth of field is simply a measure of how deep the focus in your image is. For example, this photo has shallow depth of field, the flower is in focus but the plants behind it are not. This image, on the other hand, has deeper depth of field. The flower is in focus, and the plants behind it are more in focus. They're not perfectly sharp, but they're a lot more in focus than in the first image.
