Building a custom download
- By default, jQuery UI includes all of its controls, interactions, and effects when you download it from the website. But if you know you'll only going to be using certain pieces of jQuery UI, you can customize the download to reduces it's size and boost your website's performance. And I'm going to show you how to do that in this example. So, here on the jQuery website, let's click on the download section and that will take me to the download builder. And as I scroll down the page you'll notice that jQuery UI is broken up into various sections. There's the UI piece, there's the interactions, the widgets. Here's all the effects, so if I scroll back up you'll notice that all of the check boxes for all of the pieces are checked by default. What I'm going to do is click on this "toggle all" switch which will turn off all the pieces. And now, I'm only going to download the pieces that I'm interested in.
